La Tapería Price: Menu: Spanish tapas with a twist A little outside the centre of Ibiza town is the modern residential area of Can Misses. Alongside a large supermarket, a bowling alley and a cinema, you may not expect a restaurant worth visiting. But underneath the cinema is Restaurant La Tapería, where it's always busy with cool young people going to see a film, or locals who come here after work to chat over a cocktail or a tapa. Owner Alex tells us that the restaurant opened on 6 December 2016. We are very curious to find out who designed the tough, industrial interior. Old bikes on the ceiling, crumbling walls revealing vintage movie posters, a hanging garden and the mega-large menu above the door, inspired by old cinema marquee signs. Alex himself is the brains behind the design. He used recycled products and scoured flea markets for vintage movie props and used tables and chairs. The dishes on the menu are well thought out. Spanish tapas with a twist, nicely prepared and slightly larger portions, which means two tapas will fill you up nicely. We go for the chicory with Roquefort (€7.50), tuna tataki (€10.50), "pulled pig” (€13.00) and the risotto with asparagus, prawns and mushrooms (€8.50). Everything tastes delicious, and the service is helpful and friendly. La Tapería is open from 17:30 until 02:30. Next to the restaurant is a large car park, where you can park for free.
